Perak, Malaysian Sports Record (Sukma) was eight years old at the men's 56kg weightlifting athlete of Selangor Mohd Yusoff Nandong in the 19th edition of the Tapah Merdeka Hall on Friday. The athlete from Selangor was very happy and thankful after be the champion in these category and successfully make the new record in the snatch category.

Mohd Yusoff, 20, had a 116kg weightlifting streak, eliminating the record of national athlete from Kedah, Mohd Shafiq Ismail with a 115kg force in the snatch category, as well as generating 137kg for clean and jerk compared to previous 136kg.

The donation of two gold medals through weightlifting and one of the badminton team events saw Selangor climb a stance at the ninth position as of the fourth day of the Games.



Profile of the Athlete

Mohd Yusoff b. Nandong, the athlete from Selangor, before these, the athlete was involve in Sukma 2016 in Sarawak. He was join in two events which are 56 kg in ( Clean & Jerk ) and 56 kg (Snatch ). He got silver medal on 56 kg in ( Clean & Jerk ). He also was got Bronze Medal in 56 kg (Snatch ) category. After two year, he comes and make the new record for both category. He also one of the youngest athletes in the games.
